St. Rita enters locked convent-595-2

St. Rita enters locked convent-595-2

Legend describes a conversation between the nuns and St. Rita where she describes how her patron saints made it possible for her entrance to the convent. Her three patrons are pictured above and behind her. A golden beam of light and halo symbolize the power of prayer and the presence of saints who intercede for us. The red book on the prayer bench is the book of names of the two feuding families who promised to live in peace. The reconciliation of the families is what God wanted before Rita could enter the convent.
